I bought the Samsung HT-D550, after I turned Sony home theater, not knowing what to expect. I read the reviews on the other hand, Samsung home theater systems that show poor results. It makes me very wary about buying this Samsung HT-D550. But I was pleasantly surprised as it was late a lot better than I expected. The speaker size is rather disappointing bit. Although they were small, they produce wonderful sounds. Samsung HT-D550 certainly sounds better at home than it was in the shop. The system is very easy to configure. The only downside is the wire on the rear speakers are not long enough. With the special connector to put on the back of the system, I had to do, cutting and pasting to make them. Other than that, the Samsung HT-D550 is wonderful and has great bass.
The Samsung HT-D550 works very well. You can play DivX, DVD, MP3 and others. According to Amazon, Wi-Fi is enabled, but it is not. I just hoped that I would receive a media player that plays off the network. I did a search before you buy, and no other sites say it has WiFi, and I was just waiting. Mysteriously, Samsung does not mention on their website. Through HDMI, player becomes the disk and puts in place, the TV turns on at the same time changes itself to the right input. It is very convenient, even my 18 month old baby has learned to play a movie. The sound is also excellent. I had a home theater system before, but the central canal is still too low. Powerful bass from the subwoofer, even before the center channel is strong enough to vote. Samsung HT-D550 with the voices are very clear and sharp. The same is true with the bass. I also appreciate the "touch" buttons. Cleaning is easy for my kids sticky fingerprints.
